and here it begins

I have decided to start this now, but I have been thinking about this for a while. A few months ago in a rather heated online debate someone suggested that I should do a blog and the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea of having an outlet to express myself without constraints.
What is happening now? Life is not bad, but not good either. I am a stay at home mom and I do what I can to help Alex with his business (practical ENTERPRISES). Alex is disgruntled with his career...the BIG problem is that we are financially at the mercy of his clients. If they pay him on time (which almost never happens), life is all right. If they pay late, things get messy and if they don't pay at all - well needless to say this creates chaos. There has almost always been lots of work available for him, but it's that money thing that is killing us. That said, the thing that keeps me going and makes me happy when things look bleak is our sons. Our boys are happy and healthy and get along well. One of our issues we deal with is that they spend a great deal of time when they are together making each other laugh and be silly. Not really a bad problem to have.
On Wednesday Peter, our younger son will be turning two. Hard to believe, and yet sometimes it does feel like a long time since he was born. He was so tiny when he was born, but recently he's really started getting big. Since Justin, our older son was a big baby (9lb. 12oz.), it seemed that Peter was frail in comparison. He wasn't that tiny (7lb. 8oz.), but compared to Justin he was a featherweight. I don't know how big Peter is...I guess I'll measure his height on Wednesday and get his weight when he has his checkup at the doc's office. I haven't made any big plans for Peter's actual birthday. Justin will be turning seven December 29th. Not quite sure what we'll do on his actual birthday either. Here's the thing...I have been planning a surprise trip to DisneyWorld (WDW) for several months now to celebrate both boys' birthdays. We leave December 30 and will return January 6. I LOVE WDW...so I can't wait. I am not finding it too difficult not to tell the boys. As soon as Justin finds out he will get so excited he won't sleep, so that's my incentive to not tell him until the last possible moment.
After our first family vacation to WDW in March 2004 we bought into the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). DVC membership gives us great prepaid accommodations onsite at WDW. DVC is a great thing...changed our lives actually. Prior to our 2004 trip to WDW for March Break, we had only taken trips on long weekends up north (Muskoka), or did a long weekend road trip to the Finger Lakes in NY...we didn't really ever have a 'real' vacation. Now with DVC, we take one or two vacations every year. In 2005 we went to California, went to Disneyland (DL) and stayed in their best hotel using our DVC points. Loved it there too...hope to go back before too long.
Well, I do need to put my thinking cap on for Wednesday. It just wouldn't be right not to have a bit of a party. After all it's definitely not every day that a person turns two years old.
